More from science on the Mind-Body connection
Just returned from the One Day University event in New York; all speakers were professors from Ivy League Universities.Shawn Achor Harvard Fellow discussed Positive Psychology and the Science of Happiness.
He talked about how science has proven that we are what we think.
He gave the two following examples:
1. London England cabbies who have to train for a year to know every street in London develop a much larger hippocampus in their brain - which is the part of the brain used for spacial mapping.
2. When people learn braille, the nerve/brain connection to the first finger of their right hand - which they use to 'read' braille, develops and becomes larger.
We knew that!
